Description Novel chromogenic substrate developed by Glycosynth used for the detection of beta-galactosidase activity, producing yellow microbial colonies following hydrolysis of the substrate. Colouration is tightly localised to bacterial colonies with little to no diffusion into the surrounding media. Best suited for use in solid media. The substrate may be incorporated into a dual system where two or more chromogenic substrates producing complementary colours are required.

To prevent deterioration, the product should be stored in tightly closed containers in a freezer or cold room at -20 degrees centigrade.
